Malta really is a great place to have fun activities for a variety of visitors including kids, both young and old! In this newsletter we are going to talk about a few activities for the younger travelers and families, as well as adults!
Popeye Village
Playmobil Fun Park
The Playmobil is located in Hal Far. An interesting fact is that this fun park is also a Playmobil working factory. The Playmobil in Malta is the second largest factory producing around 2 million pieces a week.
When visiting Playmobil, kids get a 45-minute tour around the factory. Moreover, they can play in one of the kids' zones such as Rescue team, City Life, Police Playmobile Zones and many more.
Esplora Interactive Science Centre
The Esplora Centre, partially funded by the EU allowances is the first of its kind in Malta. It is designated to encourage its visitors to "Explore, think and imagine". There are around 200 showcases where visitors can learn through fun activities and interactive way. You can also visit the Activity Centre for workshops and science shows.
One of its main attractions is the Planetarium that showcases the Cosmic system. The planetarium can be seen from the outside building as it is in the shape of a massive ball.
In the past, the Esplora building was part of the Royal Navy Regime Hospital and is found in the Grand Harbour in Kalkara.
The National Aquarium
The National Aquarium is one of the most popular family attractions in Malta. It is strategically located on the Northern side of the Island close to the sea.
A fun fact about this National attraction is the shape structure of this building - a Starfish!
Apart from the 41 tanks filled with fish, reptiles, insects, etc. there is also a playground just outside the Aquarium!
